The Sony MDR-NC60 Noise Canceling Headphones can block up to 85 percent of ambient noise around you, making it perfect for work, traveling, or just when you're trying to sleep in a loud place. A microphone is built into the headphones to detect environment noise from low-frequency sources such as jet engines, office printers and subway chatter. Then an electronic noise canceling circuit creates an opposite sound wave to cancel out that specific noise, resulting in a quieter listening environment. A switch on the outside of the left earpiece can turn the noise canceling function off and on while another can mute music altogether. The 40mm dome-type driver has a frequency response of 14-22,000Hz, and one AAA alkaline battery powers the device for approximately 30 hours. The cushioned headband can adjust to fit snugly on almost all head typpes and the premium ear-conscious earcups also swivel, making these headphones easy to pack and carry.
