For the size, and considering they are self-powered, these speakers are pretty decent in terms of their power. I think I was expecting the overall EQ to be a bit better, but in general a really nice product for the price and size. These speakers come in handy all the time, especially at night next to the bed when I like to fall asleep to podcasts. NO more uncomfortable headphones. :-) …read full review

Excellent quality, excellent sound - and the fact that they're totally self-contained is a huge bonus. Don't expect window-rattling sound, but for non-powered speakers, these are great. …read full review

These speakers are awesome. The sound quality really surprised me due to its small size and the fact that these aren't powered speakers. Great combination of form and function. …read full review

Just look at the lil'guys! Small and very impressive. Even at maximum volume, the music is still clear! Amazing. Another small little feature that I thought was neat was that the wire is wrapped around the rim of the ball and is protected inside, so you don't have it flying everywhere when you pick it up. I'm very pleased with these speakers. :) …read full review

The Elecom PSP-CS500 Portable Speaker is all that I hoped for when I ordered it. It’s priced well, very compact with dandy cord storage so it is as portable as the “ball” which the speakers close to form. I’m no audiophile, but to my ear it provides a very good quality sound when tested with the classical and Celtic music that I favor. Best of all for me, since I teach and give workshops, when I crank up the volume, an entire room’s audience can hear what I’m playing and understand it clearly. This was proved when I used this most recent technology to play the first recording ever—Thomas Edison’s recitation of “Mary Had a Little Lamb”—to a classroom of first …read full review

Just bought a white and black one. They're perfect for the office when you don't want to play your music too loud. However, if you do turn it up it maintains clarity with almost no distortion. High quality case, sturdy. Weak bass but that's expected, I don't think it's even physically possible when you're only powering it from a portable unit.
Shipping was fast. Overall very happy with the product and site.
...Now if they can do something about that price for the white PSP I'd get it right away... …read full review

I'm very happy - I bought them, expecting some cheap crappy speakers but was surprised to find they are more than that.
They weigh a descent amount (feels sturdy and capable) and sound quite clear with good bass and treble reproduction. Nice and loud (for passive speakers) and they are very cute and stylish.
Sometimes when connected, and the audio player is stopped, there is a high pitched (but quiet) squeel - but this dissipates over time. Also the 'click' when you open and close the speakers feels and sounds hideous, but these are such minor details.
A nice little product to have when you need to listen to your DAP out loud. …read full review
