The Pocket Piano is a mini electronic synthesizer with a big sound! The synthesizer features six unique modes:

 Vibrato Synth
 Harmonic Sweeper
 Two-Octave Arpeggiator
 Octave Cascade
 Mono FM Synth
 FM Arpeggiator

The Pocket Piano is housed in a sturdy aluminum and hardwood case and also includes a built-in speaker, a 1/4" output jack, and wooden keys made for a refined touch. It can be powered both by a 9V battery or a wall wart (not included).

When you change modes with the right-most wooden button, a color LED above that button indicates what mode is selected with a different color for each mode. The entire keyboard may be tuned over a 2 octave range by turning the knob second from right. Volume is controlled by the right-most knob. The function of the remaining two left knobs depend on what mode is selected, and are described below. There is also a button that selects waveform (sine, square, triangle, sawtooth) in the first four modes, and shifts the keyboard an octave higher in the last two modes.

AC Gears is proud to be one of the few places in the USA (and the world) that is a retail stockist of the new Pocket Piano. Come into the store and play with them in person!

OK... Let me first say that this is an Awesome product by an Impressive company (check out my review on the Pocket Piano MIDI for build specifics). I highly recommend their stuff, but I wanted to add a review on this piece and point out the difference between this base model and the MIDI model. On the surface or to someone just getting into synths, an extra $100 for the same product with the only difference being MIDI IN/OUT might seem steep. I could easilly see someone opting for this over the Piano w/ MIDI because of the $180 price tag, and just planning to "make it work." While I understand that line of reasoning and really like the base unit for what it is, I still HIGHLY recommend going with the MIDI upgraded unit. It will open up a world of connectivity and possibilities that will expand this unit far beyond a neat little instrument and into the realm of a full controller with almost unlimited sound capability. If you have any instruments at home with MIDI capability, it will be well worth the extra $100 for the upgraded version. Trust me. If, however, you are only looking to import/export pre-programmed sound via a 1/4" plug, this model is still really nice and tons of fun to work with. Bottom line - consider you desired use before you buy. You will eventually hit an integration wall without MIDI. But... still buy one or the other, because these things are GREAT little custom instruments! (Posted on 3/27/2014)
