The Pocket Piano MIDI has all the functionality of a Critter & Guitari Pocket Piano synthesizer, now with MIDI capabilities! It can interact with many other MIDI devices: drum machines, sequencers, computers, synthesizers, and other Pocket Piano MIDIs. It is both a sound module and a controller, sending and receiving MIDI note messages, and MIDI clock signals.
In addition to its intuitive interface, maple keys, built-in speaker, and aluminum and wood enclosure, it features the same six unique synth modes found on our original Pocket Piano:

great array of soundsReview by Griffin J.

The Pocket Piano has a great array of sounds. The quarter inch jack is really convenient for throwing your piano into a line of effects or an amp. I would recommend getting the 9v Center Positive power adapter (a bit harder to find than center negative) as well because the batteries won't last very long if you rely on them all the time. I mainly use the midi channels to get more keys with a controller but it seems like there are a lot of cool things you can do with them. Try hooking up your synth with a drum machine! C&G really push having multiple pianos lined up but there are more things that you can do with those channels if you are able to find other midi instruments. Have fun! (Posted on 4/9/2014)

I have been collecting analog synths for quite some time, and this is the most impresseve little synth in the few-hunderd-dollar price range that I've seen yet! The construction is really nice, and the sound is great. Through adding MIDI IN/OUT, this company has opened up a world of possibilities for the use of this thing in a larger set-up. Very well thought out and nicely built. Highly recommended for the home studio, and the travel pack both. You won't be disappointed... (Posted on 3/27/2014)

What a quirky little thing. It has a ton of character, especially the build, which is a combination of aluminum and wood. When I first pulled it out of the box, I could smell the wood, which was nice, and in conjunction with the aluminum, it's durable. The wood keys are perfectly fine for playing, but this thing shines when you hook it into a controller keyboard via midi, which leads us to the sound. Yes, it's digital, but it has a charming (and warm) sound that would sit in a mix happily with analog instruments. Because it is digital, you get four note polyphony in some of the modes, and its arpeggiator really stands out. Each synth mode has some sound shaping options, like LFO rate, or gate time. Running this through an analog delay is fun, and with midi, you can do a lot with it, to add quirk and charm to your songs. Bon Iver used it in a 4AD session, for instance. Recommended.
